I started knitting only around 5 years ago and started straight with socks! I loved using the hand dyed merino wool I had found to make these extra soft and unique from the small dye lots on offer.<\/p>\n
I was lucky enough to be able to go on a yarn dyeing retreat and I learnt how to dye my own merino yarn. Since then, I have played with my favourite colours and techniques.<\/p>\n
I love dyeing self striping yarn, although it is more time consuming to make. I particularly enjoyed the satisfaction of knitting up the test yarn and seeing it do exactly what I was hoping it would.<\/p>\n
I then learnt how to crochet and I find this better when making softly draping shawls and scarves. Many of these use only one skein of yarn so you can be sure of a unique product.<\/p>\n
I also use acrylic yarn to crochet baby blankets. Rainbow blankets are always popular and whilst I have a small stock, I usually make these to order.<\/p>\n
